Dr Jo-Ann Chan BVSc
Practice Principal
After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2010, Jo-Ann has gained diverse experience working across general practice and shelter medicine in Melbourne, Sydney, and Singapore. These international experiences have shaped her approach to veterinary care, which is kind, thorough, and centred on the wellbeing of each individual pet. She has cared for dogs, cats, and a range of exotic species, giving her a broad clinical foundation and a deep appreciation for the unique needs of every animal.
As the co-founder of Vets on Falcon, Jo-Ann is passionate about providing low stress veterinary care that supports pets both medically and emotionally. She is committed to creating a calm, supportive environment where pets feel safe and where families across the Lower North Shore feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Jo-Ann’s clinical skills are broad and include diagnostic imaging, feline medicine, and rehabilitation. She has completed advanced ultrasound training under veterinary specialists overseas and undertaken further studies in feline medicine through the University of Sydney. She has also completed training in laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, and video otoscopy, providing valuable diagnostic and treatment options for complex ear and internal medicine cases. Jo-Ann is in the final stages of completing the internationally recognised Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) program through the University of Tennessee, reflecting her dedication to improving mobility, comfort, and long-term quality of life for her patients.
Jo-Ann is licensed to practise as a veterinary surgeon in both Australia and the United States. She is also completing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with the Australian Graduate School of Management, further strengthening her leadership and her commitment to delivering exceptional, long-term veterinary care.
Outside of work, Jo-Ann is a passionate baker, an enthusiastic foodie, and the busy mum of four young children. Her family keeps her grounded and brings a lot of happiness into her life, and her experiences as a parent shape the empathy she brings to the families she supports in the clinic.
Dr Eugene Ong BVSc (Hons I), MBA
Practice Principal
Eugene graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne and began his veterinary career in the United States and Singapore before returning to Australia to complete a specialist internship in emergency and critical care. He has since spent more than a decade working in emergency hospitals across Melbourne and Sydney, gaining extensive experience in urgent care and internal medicine, and forming meaningful connections with the families who entrust him with their pets’ care.
Eugene is licensed to practise as a veterinary surgeon in Australia, Singapore, and the United States. His clinical interests include dermatology and internal medicine, and he enjoys helping pets with chronic or complex conditions live more comfortable, healthier lives.

Alongside his clinical work, Eugene holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Melbourne Business School. He has also worked in strategic roles within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry in Australia and North America. These diverse experiences have strengthened his passion for building customer-focused and patient-centric veterinary hospitals where both pets and their families feel cared for.
As the co-owner of Vets on Falcon, Eugene focuses on ensuring that every visit is smooth, positive, and grounded in genuine compassion. He oversees practice operations with the goal of creating a calm, seamless experience for pets and the people who love them. Eugene enjoys bringing best practice ideas from other industries into the clinic to continually improve communication, service, and the overall standard of care.
Eugene is deeply committed to kindness, transparency, and long-term relationships with pet families. His goal is to ensure that every animal who walks through the door feels safe and supported, and that every family feels confident and cared for throughout their pet’s health journey.
Outside of work, Eugene is usually found doing school pick ups or enjoying some quiet time pondering life’s big and small questions.
