Our Approach to Supplying Medications
At Vets on Falcon, we follow NSW Health regulations and veterinary guidelines to ensure every medication we prescribe is safe, appropriate and based on current knowledge of your pet’s health. We can only supply prescription medication when we have a genuine veterinary relationship with your pet, which means they must have been examined recently or be under our ongoing care.
For new prescriptions, a consultation is required. For ongoing medications, pets need to be seen at least every six months so we can monitor their response, keep their treatment up to date and make any necessary adjustments. The Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW also requires that we have examined your pet within the past six months before supplying or refilling any prescription.
Prescription medications include commonly used drugs such as ear ointments, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories, and must only be supplied under veterinary supervision. If you are unsure whether your pet is due for a review, our team is here to help.

When you request a repeat, our team will check your pet’s medical history and advise if a clinical reassessment is needed. Some conditions and medications require more frequent monitoring, even if your pet has been seen within the past six months.
If your pet is due for a review, we will help schedule a convenient appointment. These visits give us up to date information, allow us to confirm that their medication is still the best choice and pick up early changes that may not be noticeable at home. Many long term medications also require periodic blood tests to ensure the dose remains safe and effective.
If everything is current, we can prepare the medication for collection. Please allow up to two working days for ordering and preparation. Some commonly stocked medicines may be ready sooner, often within 24 hours. We will notify you once everything is ready for pick up.
